JIM MIKULSKI

Jim started his career 25 years ago on the shop floor as an apprentice toolmaker. He later attained a BS degree in Manufacturing Engineering from Penn State while working full-time. His early career included roles as a Manufacturing, Quality, and Project Engineer. After learning the power of kaizen and 3P from Shing ijutsu, he was inspired to pursue a career in Operational Excellence and progressed through various roles as a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, Global Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt, and Operational Excellence Champion.

In 2015, Jim led a global Enterprise Excellence transformation that started with re-organizing the business by Value Streams and using a principle-based approach aligned with the Shingo Model. He has worked in various sectors, including Aerospace, Chemicals, Plastics, Medical Devices, Industrials, and Semiconductors. Over the past 20 years, he has trained and coached over 2,500 people in Lean Six Sigma Tools and Techniques, Lean Leadership and certified 360 Green Belts, Black Belts and Lean Masters. His work with employers and clients has generated breakthrough results in performance with sustained success providing over $51 million in profit.

Jim is a certified Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt and earned an M.S. in Manufacturing Management and Leadership from the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT). He is also a member of ASQ, SME, and a board member for the Mid-Atlantic Region of the Association for Manufacturing Excellence (AME).
