So many contributions from manufacturing: family-sustaining careers, innovation, contribution to GDP, investments in technology and durable goods, etc. Value and productivity drive GDP and GDP drives the standard of living. manufacturing provides an outsized impact on both. Documented that for every 100 direct manufacturing jobs – 625 indirect jobs are created. In York County manufacturing has 2x the national rate of employment at 17% and provides 23% of total wages.
