Explore Engineering Careers in Manufacturing
MFG U: Applied Engineering is a two-week summer experience for rising high school seniors designed to introduce them to the value of applied engineering careers within the manufacturing world. The program includes hands-on labs, engineering challenges, and facility tours. In today’s world, applied engineers are just as essential as traditional engineers—bringing designs to life, solving problems in real time, and keeping manufacturing moving. It’s the perfect way to learn how to turn a love of STEM into a high-impact career.
Key Components:
- Small group instruction from college professors
- Variety of manufacturing site visits
- Lab time to build a working steam engine from scratch
- Advanced Insights Assessment
- Option to earn the Certified Manufacturing Associate (CMfgA) credential

MFG U: Supply Chain
Business, Logistics & Problem-Solving in Action
MFG U: Supply Chain is a two-week summer program for rising high school seniors focused on the business and logistics side of manufacturing. Students will explore how products move from raw materials to finished goods, diving into concepts like procurement, inventory management, and operations planning. With real-world simulations, industry tours, and mentorship from college professors, this program is perfect for students who enjoy strategy, organization, and making things run efficiently. Supply chain careers are the backbone of manufacturing—making sure the right products get to the right place at the right time, every time.
