MAP: A FREE, Hands-On Career Exploration Program

Not sure what’s next? Wondering if manufacturing could be the right path for you?

MANTEC’s Manufacturing Access Program (MAP) is a risk-free way to explore real career options in manufacturing. You’ll visit a variety of local companies, experience different work environments, and find out if this well-paying, high-tech industry is a good fit for you—no experience needed!

Think of MAP as your personal career GPS—giving you the directions, skills, and confidence to discover a new future in manufacturing.

What You’ll Do:

  • Tour local manufacturing facilities to see what 21st-century manufacturing really looks like
  • Identify the environments you like best—from hands-on production to advanced automation
  • Get free training to prepare you for a job in the industry
    • Earn credentials including:
      Certified Manufacturing Associate from SME– from SME – a nationally recognized credential that shows employers you understand the core skills needed in modern manufacturing, including safety, quality, production processes, and maintenance. It’s a great way to stand out, especially if you’re just starting your career.
    • Certificate of Completion from Thaddeus Stevens College
  • Receive interview prep and the opportunity to meet with real employers who are hiring
  • Get support every step of the way

Whether you’re job-hunting, in between steps, or just exploring your options, MAP gives you the tools and experience to take the next step—confidently.

Who Can Apply:

  • Summer sessions: Open to young adults ages 18–26
  • Fall/Spring sessions: Open to all adults 18+

Class size is limited to 10, so don’t wait—apply early!
