Gigabit Revolution

The Gigabit Revolution is an amazing technology improvement proposed in our region, directly impacting Ephrata, York and Hanover.

BACKGROUND:  In 2016, UFD is building a new point-to-point ultra-high speed broadband fiber network from New York City to York, PA to Ashburn, VA.  While most NYC to DC broadband traces the I-95/Amtrak corridor, the UFD fiber creates a new route for redundancy, national safety and many other significant benefits.  Within a ten mile radius of the UFD fiber there are more than 4 million Pennsylvanians, thousands of businesses, hundreds of communities, and more than 100 existing broadband companies.   With input from the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development, business & community leaders and other stakeholders, the UFD – Pennsylvania Gigabit Revolution – Broadband Outreach and Aggregation Project is designed to maximize the major impacts this Project can help deliver through its 5 county footprint.

UFD is collecting technology surveys from businesses that will be impacted.  Download the survey. You can scan and return to Leigh Ann at MANTEC or directly to Bernadette Reineberg at UFD
